1st game of Season 2010/2011 & Arsenal Malaysia membership drive for 2010/2011

I rarely post about match viewing gatherings, because there are many of them. But this is special, not only because it's the first game of 10/11, but it's also the start of our membership drive.

Not a bad start to the drive, methinks. It will continue on for our next game against Blackpool, so hopefully, more Gooners will sign up as members of Arsenal Malaysia.

Soon, outstation Gooners can also register, most probably by downloading and then sending the application form with proof of payment.

Team Azri 8-1 Arsenal Malaysia, 7th August 2010

Game played at Setia Alam Ecopark Clubhouse. Really beautiful pitch. Expensive too.

Quite a trashing. Again, players not sticking to their positions is the main reason. Still fun outing though. Qamal Fikri scored our consolation.

Beautiful pitch...

Warming up...

Captain and Vice-Captain considering the starting lineup...

"I kill you!"

Naim reminding everyone that although we play for fun, we should still play our best...

Very important task, ensuring everyone pays...

Arsenal Malaysia 4 - 2 Juventus Malaysia, 25th July 2010

Our first football game with the new, smart jersey. Also our first after the AGM. Game played at Pusat Komuniti Bukit Damansara.

Game played 3 halves (periods). They scored 1 in each of the first 2 periods, but we scored 4 in the third. Amazing comeback, great fun.

Talking strategies with the captain...

Amri took over my customary position, which is the first player to come off...

I didn't play in this one, but I hope to be able to play in the next...

Goal!!!

"How much are we charging, Mr. Treasurer?"

Collecting payment...

Embi : So next time you're playing, right boss?
Azril : We'll see, if it doesn't rain, maybe.

Some complaints about the pitch though. It was obviously small, and the lines are hardly visible, and if it wasn't for Jeff and his corner flags, it would have been worse. We'll try to play at least one more game there, hopefully when it's not wet.

I should mention the amazing response from the guys who wanted to play. Some came just to support. A lot brought their families along. Nice to see that. Too bad about the rain, though.

LSCM Mini Tourney, 24th July 2010

LSCM again invited us to a mini-tourney at Padang@1Utama...

6 teams, 3 teams in each group, top 2 qualify for crossover semifinals. We sent a fairly strong team, on paper at least. I did not play.

However, we only drew our first game and lost the second, eventually finishing last in our group.

Couple of things I wasn't happy about, but we talked it through, and there's no need to disclose what was said. All is well.

After we lost, we paid to play another hour. I joined that session.

AFCSM vs Subang Jaya Futsal Team, 15th May 2010

Can't bear to watch...

Futsal friendly played on the blue pitch of Samba de Futsal, against Philip Long's team.

Great turnout for this game, 15 players. Score unknown, but we scored quite a lot. They scored much more though.

Zool looking tense...
