Some of AFCSM's activities that I was part of, also some other Arsenal fan-related stuff. Not many posts on gatherings though. This is not another Arsenal blog, there are too many out there already. Almost all the pics here are copied. If there are any copyright infringements, I apologize and do let me know. Btw, you could probably find more pics on some of the events at http://www.facebook.com/AFCSM

Hemaviton Mini Tournament, Sports Planet Shah Alam, 16th December 2009
The original plan was for Tok Jinjang FC to enter this tourney but we couldn't get a squad ready. Since I've already made up my mind about entering it, I contacted some fellow Gooners to see whether we could come up with a decent squad. Khai brought Arif and 2 other Goons who I've never met.
This was not AFCSM's team of course, but we were still all Gooners, so when the organizer called and asked for the team name, I said Abou Diaby. They wrote it as Abu Diabi.
A total of 10 teams took part, divided into 2 groups of 5. Group champs meet in the final.
Unfortunately, only 1 pitch was used for our category, so it was past 1 am when we finished our last group game.
Our results?
Won the first game 3-0.
Drew the 2nd game 0-0.
Lost the 3rd game to the eventual group champions 0-1. A punk waved his fist at Mukhlis after they battled for the ball.
Drew the 4th game 1-1. Mukhlis was yellow-carded. I thought that was a wrong decision.
Special mention for Khai, who conceded only 2 goals and several great saves. It was overall great fun. Thanks guys! We'll give it another go next time.
Other than the scheduling, everything else was all right, I guess. 2 referees officiated each game and they were definitely top class.

EPL Masters Football Malaysia Cup, 22nd Nov 2009
This is the second edition, and I've been to both...
Sad to say, the players played in half-empty stadiums...I'm sure the organizers were disappointed with the turnout and lack of support, and I'm certain that the players were too...
As I mentioned on my facebook status...
how can u expect the "stars" to travel half-way round the world when u won't come and watch them play in appreciation of their contributions to the game?whichever team u support, why just "talk c0ck" about ur team's history when part of that history is here?parlour, andy cole, viv anderson, ugo ehiogu, michael thomas, may, ian walker, blomqvist, deane, mcateer, ronny johnsen, paul jones, mark wright,etc...
Neways, I was glad to have been joined by fellow Gooners Moe+wife, Shahnaz+Capt Fairuz, Jepp, Amri, Arief, Azhar, Khai+fiance, Zafuan+wife and also meeting Anand there...AFCSM 4-4 Kg Malaysia, 15 November 2009

To welcome the new season, LSCM organized a friendly 7-a-side futsal tournament at Padang@1 Utama. 6 teams took part, split into 2 groups of 3. Play round robin, group champions meet in the final.
AFCSM and Chelsea drew against each other and both beat Blackburn 3-0, so penalty kicks were needed to decide the group champions. We lost.

Football friendly, 2nd August 2009
Friendly game against Zack's friend's team...Night game played at Stadium Mini Shah Alam. Astro Awani was there too, mainly to interview some Arsenal fans (Naim and Kiong) regarding Wenger who was in KL the other day.
I didn't play in this game as well, just came to support. Also, no pics...Unsure of the score, but AFCSM lost...

Arsene Wenger in KL...9 June 2009...
Arsene Wenger dropped by KL. His visit, made possible by Castrol, is part of the brand’s sponsorship of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He conducted the Castrol Performance Challenge with the Malaysian U-19 team at Dataran Merdeka.
It was a welcome surprise to see so many Arsenal fans took the time to come to Dataran Merdeka, it being a workday...
